St. Scholastica, Sister of St. Benedict, Founder of the Benedictines

Salve radix, salve porta; Ex qua mundo lux est orta.
Root of Jesse, Gate of Morn, Whence the World's True Light was Born.

May the eyes of our soul be ever intent on the Light, which Mary brought us. May the Light so shine in us and through us that we may be able to lead unto Christ those that grope in darkness.

By John Cardinal Henry Newman:

Mary, thou art the star, shining with the light of Jesus, fair as the moon, and bright as the sun, the star of the heavens which it is good to look upon; the star of the sea which is welcome to the tempest-tossed; at whose smile evil spirit flies, the passions are hushed, and peace is poured upon the soul.

By thee, O Mary, have all the heresies of the world been overcome!
Please help us, Pray for us, Protect us!
