From the 1962 Roman Catholic Daily Missal, here's an excerpt on the Saint:

One of the greatest Franciscan Saints, St. Anthony was a profound theologian, a brillant preacher, a formidable foe to heresy, and a terror to heretics, through the supernatural forces which seemed always at his command. He was born in Lisbon, but laboured chiefly in Italy, where he died in 1231.
