Jesus, Make Me Worthy!

Jesus, Make Me Worthy
I was reading the prayer book “Jesus Make Me Worthy” to my little girl. As a language teacher, I really appreciate this book! It is such a beautiful book because it tells of great mysteries and of our Faith using such simple and easy to understand language! As a mother, I am greatly indebted to the priest who wrote this book! I hope that my little one will be able to use it to her benefit and that I will guide her to use it properly.

Here is what I read to her today:

At the Preface of the Mass
The Preface tells us that the most solemn part of the Mass is very near. Soon the bread and wine will be changed into the real and true Body and Blood of Jesus Christ. Pray with all the fervour of your soul:

O my dear Jesus, let me now think of Thee on the way to Calvary. How heavy the cross was on Thy bruised, bleeding shoulders and how it pained Thee! How kind Thou wert to the good women that followed Thee and wept over Thee! How Thy Sacred Heart was torn with grief when Thou didst meet Thy loving Mother Mary along the way. Three times Thou didst fall to the earth beneath the heavy load. How each time Thou didst rise again to struggle on to Thy death.

O my dearest Jesus! how much Thou didst love me! Oh, teach me to carry my cross, to suffer patiently all the sorrows of life and live and die only for Thee.

Deus propitius esto mihi peccatori.

Jesu mitis et humilis corde, Fac cor nostrum secundum Cor tuum. (ter)

Jesus, Mary, Joseph, Anne, Therese, I love You; Save Souls!

St Alphonsus Ligouri, Ora pro nobis!

Today is the Feast Day of St Alphonsus Ligouri and also First Friday. Some thoughts on what I have been thinking and meditating about this last week:

St Joseph - no rash judgments (I will elaborate on this)

When inner struggles weigh you down, my dearest Jesus, stay with me. Help me always to remember:

Deus propitius esto mihi peccatori!

and this:

St Thomas speaks in IIa IIae qu. 60 a.3: “this [interpreting doubts in the evil side] is due to a man being ill-disposed towards another: for when a man hates or despises another, or is angry with or envious of him, he is led by slight indications to think evil of him, because everyone easily believes what he desires.

Deus propitius esto mihi peccatori

Jesu mitis et humilis corde, Fac cor nostrum secundum Cor tuum. (ter)
